Fuel monitoring and GPS tracking glossary
The words you will see in BPN-TRACK and in fuel monitoring in general, explained simply. Each one links to the guide topic where you can see it in the app.

- Fuel level sensor
A sensor fitted in the fuel tank that reports how full the tank is. BPN-TRACK supports wired and Bluetooth fuel level sensors and turns the reading into litres using the calibration table.
Read the guide- Calibration table
A list that says which sensor reading means how many litres in a particular tank. It is entered by hand or imported from CSV or Excel; the preview draws the curve.
Read the guide- Tank size
The full capacity of the tank in litres, set for each vehicle together with the calibration table.
Read the guide- Fuel chart
The chart of the tank level over the day, with speed and engine time on the same chart, and fills and suspected loss marked on it.
Read the guide- Fill (refill)
A rise in the tank level when diesel or petrol is filled. Shown in green on the fuel chart, with time, place and litres.
Read the guide- Suspected fuel loss (drain)
A drop in the tank level that BPN-TRACK marks as suspected loss — in red on the fuel chart, with time, place, litres and the readings around it.
Read the guide- Micro fuel theft
Small, repeated thefts of a few hundred millilitres at a time. BPN-TRACK catches theft down to 100 ml with the Advanced wireless fuel level sensor.
Read the guide- Fuel sloshing
Fuel moving inside the tank when the vehicle drives, brakes, turns or stands on a slope. On BPN-TRACK, sloshing does not raise false refill, drain or theft alerts.
Read the guide- Diesel theft alert
A message sent when suspected fuel loss is found — by app notification, SMS, WhatsApp or email, as set in the alert rules.
Read the guide- Fuel loss proof
The details of a fuel loss event — time, place, litres and the readings around it, with street photos where they exist — that can be copied or printed.
Read the guide- False event
A fuel event you know is not real (for example, the tank was being serviced). Marking it false keeps it out of totals and reports; it can be restored.
Read the guide- Fuel consumption
How much fuel a vehicle used, refilled and lost in a period, shown in the fuel consumption report with km per litre and the cost at your fuel price.
Read the guide- km per litre (mileage)
Kilometres driven for each litre of fuel used, per vehicle, in the fuel consumption report.
Read the guide- Engine time / engine hours
How long the engine ran. Shown on the fuel chart and used for service reminders on machines.
Read the guide- Ignition
Whether the vehicle’s key is on. Shown in the vehicle panel; an ignition alert can be switched on.
Read the guide- Idle
Engine on but the vehicle not moving. Idle vehicles are shown on the Live map, and heat maps show where idling happens.
Read the guide- Geofence
An area drawn on the map — a circle or any shape — such as a yard, a customer site, a toll or a fuel pump, with entry and exit alerts.
Read the guide- Heat map
A colour layer on the Live map showing where vehicles park, idle, drive at night, overspeed or lost fuel, for a period you choose.
Read the guide- Live location link
A link that shows one vehicle live and expires by itself. The receiver needs no app and no login.
Read the guide- Power cut alert
An alert when the GPS device loses power from the vehicle.
Read the guide- Calibration curve preview
The drawing of the calibration table as a curve, so a wrong row stands out before you save.
Read the guide- Device commands
Instructions sent to a GPS device from the app, used by dealers and technicians.
Read the guide- Troubleshoot screen
The screen where an installer or technician reads a device’s live data to check it is working.
Read the guide- White label
Running BPN-TRACK under a dealer’s or distributor’s own name, logo and colours, so their customers see their brand.
Read the guide- Roles
The kind of login a person has — distributor, dealer, business, staff, driver or technician — which decides what they can see and do.
Read the guide- Renewal
Extending a vehicle’s BPN-TRACK service. Vehicles that are due are listed, and can be renewed together online.
